Reading blogs about the Camino Norte the theme that emerges is beautiful scenery but lots of elevation. In the first few days climbs are upwards of 250 metres, I will need to get in plenty of hill climbing practice!
Using Google Earth I calculated the elevation from our home to the top of Wormesley Track a track I have completed a number of times. According to Google Earth the climb is 459 metres. That will be good practice.
Will need to do an accuracy check with the GPS. Looking forward to creating some training routes as well as completing walks arounf Christchurch and beyond.
